The Thomas G. Labrecque Foundation was founded in 2003 by the Labrecque family in honor of Tom’s memory. Tom’s family and friends initiated the Thomas G. Labrecque Classic “Run as One” event, with the hope of raising lung cancer awareness and vital research dollars to find a cure. To date, the Foundation has raised over $3.5 million dollars for lung cancer research and awareness.

In 2007, the Thomas G. Labrecque Foundation partnered with The Canary Foundation to create a unique and collaborative program called Canary Lung, which aims to save lives though early detection of lung cancer. Utilizing The Canary Foundation’s effective and proven organizational model, Canary Lung has developed a focused and dedicated team of research and medical experts working to make routine early detection a reality.
